Abstract

The cyber security jobs market is a tough place for entry level and junior candidates. Amy will talk through the current employment landscape, explore the concept of the skills gap, and provide top guidance on how to successfully land your first role in cyber security.

Biography

Amy Stokes-Waters is a senior business development manager at Cognisys, a security testing and managed security services provider based in Yorkshire, as well as being the Co-Founder and Commercial Director of her own business, Capture the Talent. She is passionate about making positive changes in the industry, supporting newcomers through mentoring and is a firm believer in the "tech for good" philosophy.

Amy heads up the industry mentoring programme at CAPSLOCK, a cyber security academy, which aims at reskilling people into the industry using a teams-based learning approach.

Additionally, Amy co-founded the Artificially Unintelligent Awards, a community-focused project which aims to recognise achievements without the pay to play element, and raise money for the Innocent Lives Foundation.
