Cyber Scalextric
"Cyber Scalextric" is an educational project supported by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), that allows students to learn about cyber physical systems security. The concept is based on securing the technology that drives real-world sports events such as the Olympic 2012, including the scoreboards that are obviously vital to the sport, and that are observed by spectators around the globe. In the project, we link a scalextric track with a motion sensor, that is connected to a Raspberry Pi web server for relaying a scoreboard display. Students can connect to a local network that the scoreboard is connected to, and learn to gain access to this vulnerable service, and manipulate score counters to then increment their own scoring, or sabotage their opponents!
